I have worked in video production for over 25 years. I collaborate with both external and internal marketing agencies to produce a wide array of video content.

Producing, Directing or Editing - in Texas you get to wear a lot of hats. I can command all the equipment in a 5 ton grip truck, work logistics for a project, speak in depth about film theory, or be perfectly content setting up a c-stand. I just love filmmaking.

I work joyfully with humor and bring the calmness of experience and problem solving to any film set.

A CANDID HISTORY OF DONNY HALL

Hollywood
​2007-2011

An old DP friend named Brian gave me a shot to do more editing for people in Cali. I'm forever grateful for that break.

My post production work brought me to Los Angeles with the Zamani brothers. I worked in a studio that was constantly being used by various productions. I would observe and ask lots of questions.

Artists like Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and E40 would grace the hallways. I also worked with Iranian stars like Ebi and Gagoosh.

This is where I studied most of the techniques I use today.

The biggest music video project I worked on was Tyler the Creators breakout record "Yonkers".

Texas Freelance
​2011-2017

I moved back to Texas to help with my mom as she fought cancer. I started to pursue Texas gigs and projects in Bryan / College Station. My mom passed from cancer. She was 50. I had a lot of personal growth during these tough times. I took my time - and carried on.

A few years I would meet the love of my life and get married. I also fell in love with the local Bryan/ College Station  art scene and community. These would be my last years to work on rap videos.

Working for the Man
​2018-2019

When your starting a family you need stability. There was no better opportunity than shooting video for Texas A&M University Department of Marketing and communications. The reach of video projects was global. I still see my footage being shared to this day.

The TXFW years
​2019-2022

What can I say? We had a blast. As a founding member of TXFW Clay and I did a lot to build that company. I had a good run as Creative Director.
​But I wanted more time to gig freelance projects and pursue some creative goals.

Still here. Still grinding.

​Doing what I love and spending lots of time with my family.

It doesn't get much better than this.
